The final few yards of the Peak Forest Canal at its western end.  Crossing beyond the bridge is the Ashton Canal.

Across from the old horse bridge is the Portland Basin Warehouse. 

It pre-dates the bridge but has now been converted into a Museum of local life with flats in either wing.  Some of the moored boats are being restored by the Wooden Boat Society.
